It's independence day here so no school for me today. A perfect chance to sit and stare. My thoughts keep me company and I revel in the luxury of enjoying the moment; not needing to make any decisions. The plants in my garden offer the perfect backdrop. They inspire me, these plants. Take the orchids, for example. They grow wild, with their roots hanging loosely in the air. They don't need soil to grow, these orchids. But they do need something to hold on to. Like a tree, or a log, or a wall...just like the climbing ficus that spreads it's beauty all over the drab cement wall.
